Ridgeview welcomes new psychiatrist

Oak Ridge, TN – Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services welcomes Dr. Tina Jackson, MD to the role of Staff Psychiatrist on July 27, 2020. After serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Appalachian corridor of East Tennessee, Dr. Jackson saw a need for more doctors to serve rural areas. She received her Medical Doctor degree in 2016 from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine and completed her Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.

She is an accomplished, compassionate psychiatrist who is highly honored and recognized for her American Psychiatric Association (APA) appointments and numerous publications. Having grown up in Clinton, TN, her heart and vocational calling are deeply rooted in meeting the needs of East Tennesseans experiencing complex behavioral health needs. Dr. Jackson shared that she has “come home to make a difference,” adding, “I look forward to doing just that.”

Outside of family, Dr. Jackson’s interests include hiking and enjoying water sports on the plentiful local lakes and rivers. She added, “I am very fond of musical theater and manage to get to Broadway regularly,” admittedly, Covid-19 has altered her plans for this season.

Brian Buuck, CEO, said, “After a thorough and uncompromising vetting process, Ridgeview is delighted to welcome Dr. Jackson and her family to East Tennessee. Her values and guiding principles of being person-centered, collaborative, and recovery oriented are a great complement to Ridgeview’s service philosophies. We are confident that our community partners and those we serve will find Dr. Jackson helpful and hopeful in all she does to further the mission of Ridgeview and to provide the very best psychiatric care to her patients.”
